My Favorite Gay Bar in NYC

There’s nothing more relaxing than a good old fashioned drink in a cozy pub with friends and a good book. No worries about any trouble breathing, or having to do anything more complicated that just talking to someone. And if you’re one of those people who just can’t get enough New York gay nightlife, then a gay bar in NYC may be the perfect setting for you. Here’s a list of my favorite gay bars in NYC, no matter how you look at it!

Milk & Honey – One of my absolute favorite gay bar in NYC

The drinks are excellent, the crowd is beautiful and the ambience is just right for a quiet evening by the pool or near the river. There are always beautiful people there, dancing to live music on weekends or evening Wednesdays, and you’ll never feel like you’ve left New York when you’re there. I love going to Milk & Honey for a quiet evening in with my friends after work.

Babalu Restaurant – This is my second favorite LGBT bar in NYC

If you don’t know, it’s located right next to Maimonides of Manhattan and serves traditional Spanish fare on a small menu. Every Sunday they open up a whole new buffet of dishes, which I’ve rarely tried, but when have I? It’s a wonderful thing to go to with the girls, and I highly recommend it.

Chelsea – This is by far my favorite gay bar in Manhattan

While it doesn’t have a great atmosphere, that hasn’t detracted anyone from my visits here. I love going to Chelsea for a night on the town with my best friend, or a few days before my wedding with my husband.

If you’ve never been here, do yourself a favor and check it out. It has a great jukebox, some awesome dance floors, and great bartenders that make drinks without being mean spirited. It also has a very diverse crowd, which surprises me sometimes.

Every bar I visit has an interesting story to tell, and New York City is no exception. Even if you visit only one gay bar in NYC, you’ll be a believer the minute you get in and see the vibes of the people there. The gay bar in NY keeps the crowd happy and coming back again, and if you need a pick me up, this is the spot. Make sure to check out these bars if you ever have a chance!
